Kurt Hummel is one of the New Directions' original members. He is openly gay, and loves fashion. He was bullied by jocks all through high school.
Kurt has a crush on the quarterback and male lead singer, Finn Hudson, for a while. Kurt's crush on Finn leads him to introduce his father, Burt, to Finns mother, Carole. Burt and Carole falls in love, and get married in season 2. In the wedding, Finn tells Kurt that he's got his back from now on, but later in the episode Kurt decides to transfer to Dalton Academy and join the Warblers. At Dalton, Kurt has a crush on the Warblers lead singer, Blaine, who is also openly gay. Kurt tells him that later, but Blaine says he isn't ready for a relationship. But when Kurt sings ''Blackbird'' after Pavarotti dies, Blaine realizes that he really likes Kurt too, and they share a kiss later in the episode. By the end of season 2, Kurt is back at McKinley and is still in a relationship with Blaine Anderson.
In season 3, Blaine transfers to McKinley to be with Kurt. And their relationship is going steady until they realise Kurt is graduating and moving to New York while Blaine still has a year left of high school. Kurt feels like Blaine is distancing himself from him. They later talk to Ms. Pillsbury about it, and Blaine says he is just practicing for when Kurt won't be around anymore. Then they make up.
In the beginning of season 4 Kurt is still in Lima, but he goes to New York when school starts back up to try to get into NYADA again. In New York, Kurt and Rachel finds an old apartment to rent, and Kurt gets a job at a fashion company. His job keeps him very busy, so Blaine feels like he isn't making time for him, which leads to Blaine cheating on him with some guy who 'friended' him on Facebook. Blaine goes to New York to tell him, and to make things right, but Kurt is having a hard time forgiving him. Kurt tells Blaine it's best if they don't talk for a while. A couple of episodes later, Kurt calls Blaine to wish him good luck on the musical and says he misses talking to his best friend. Kurt gets accepted to NYADA in december, after singing at the Winter Showcase. Blaine goes to New York to celebrate christmas with Kurt and Burt.
At Emma and Wills 'wedding that didn't happen' Blaine and Kurt made out in the back of a car, sang a flirty duet, and had sex in a hotel room. Kurt, however, keeps saying that they're just friends, which Blaine agrees to because it means he get to spend time with the love of his life.
In the later episodes, Kurt says he's trying to get over Blaine, but he cries while watching Moulin Rouge, because he's imagining him and Blaine singing Come What May to each other.
Kurt comes back to Lima for his fathers doctors appointment in 4x21, and he goes by the school to hang out with Blaine and all the other students. He and Blaine flirts a lot, but are still not back together by the end of season 4.
Blaine Devon Anderson
When Blaine comes into the show in season 2, he goes to Dalton Academy and is the lead singer in their glee club, The Dalton Academy Warblers. He meats Kurt Hummel when we vistits Dalton to spy on the Warblers. Blaine is openly gay and proud of it. But he had to move away from his old school to Dalton to get there. He gives Kurt some advice for his trouble at McKinley.
Later Kurt transfers to Dalton to avoid the constant bullying. Kurt obviously likes Blaine very much, and would like to be more than friends, and tells Blaine this later on. When Kurt sings 'Blackbird' after Pavarotti died, Blaine realises that he really likes Kurt too, and they share a kiss later in the episode.
In the first episode of season 3, Blaine transfers to McKinley to be with Kurt and joins New Directions. The other members don't treat him very well, but that is because they're jealous and know that Blaine will get a lot of solos.
Blaine has a big brother, Cooper Anderson, who is kind of a local celebrity, and he had always been picking on Blaine and told him he wasn't good at anything. Cooper comes to McKinley and makes thing right with his little brother
In season 4, Kurt moves to New York to follow his dreams, while Blaine still has a year left of high school. Their long-distance relationship gets really hard, since Kurt is really busy at work, and all they talk about is New York and NYADA. This drives Blaine to hook up with some guy who 'friended' him on Facebook. Blaine immediately flies to New York and tells Kurt, after singing Teenage Dream to him in a bar. Kurt gets really hurt, and doesn't wanna talk to Blaine for a while. Kurt later calls him to tell him 'good luck' and that he missed talking to him and still want to be friends. Blaine flies out to New York again to celebrate christmas with Kurt and Burt.
Back at McKinley Tina asks Blaine to go to the ''Sadie Hawkins'' dance. He said no at first, but then agreed to go when she asked him again. Blaine also told her that he has a crush on Sam.
Blaine hooks up with Kurt at Emma and Wills 'almost wedding', but Kurt is still saying that they're just friends.
In 4x21, when Burt is at school, after listening to Kurt sing 'You Are the Sunshine of My Life' to Burt, Blaine has a talk with him. Blaine talks about how much he loves Kurt, and asks for Burt permission to propose to Kurt. In response, Burt tells him that he's glad he loves Kurt, and that he knows Kurt loves him back, but that neither of them know what a marriage mean. That it's more than just two people living together.
Blaine still goes ahead and buys a ring, and he brings Sam to help him pick it out. At the store, he meets a wonderful old lady who invites him and Kurt to dinner with her and her girlfriend.
